The face behind Art is the Antidote
Aleece has always been an artist, but like many, she was steered by societal norms to find a more lucrative profession. For over 20 years, she enjoyed a career in the fashion industry. From personal styling, directing photo shoots, curating vintage collections, to retail management, window display and merchandising, it was a great creative outlet.
But, there’s nothing like a global pandemic to shake you by the shoulders, causing one to reflect and reassess their purpose and passion. If you had asked a 7 year old Aleece what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would have undoubtedly told you “an artist”, always finding her happy place in any form of art. Aleece has always explored her innate passion to create. From photography, pottery, writing, drawing, and painting, she has always been expanding her skills in various mediums. Always up for trying something new, she has recently joined the digital world of graphic and surface pattern design!
Having dealt with anxiety, OCD and depression most of her life, she has only now come to realize that art is actually a form of therapy for her. Through this, she is able to zen out and give complete focus to the present.
