According to skillshare.com, surface design is by definition “the creation of artwork, prints and designs that can be applied to a surface.” It is a division of graphic design where art patterns are made for print use on various substrates, in various industries. From wallpaper to clothing, stationary, ceramics, furnishings or fabrics, the possibilities are endless. If you wear or use anything with a print, chances are someone designed it!

As a multi media artist, having spent decades honing my fine art skills, I love to incorporate hand drawn details, paintings, and even photography into my digital work. It is important for me to balance analog components with a human touch to create art with an organic feel.
